Privacy Act Statement –
Authority: 10 U.S.C. 5041, Headquarters, US Marine Corps; Marine Corps Order P1700.27B, Marine Corps Community Services Policy Manual (MCCS); Marine Corps Marathon Charter effective 27 Mar 2007; and SORN MMC00010 and SORN NM01700-1.
Purpose: To register, acknowledge and promote participation in Marine Corps Marathon Organization events. Information is used to plan, organize, coordinate and execute the events and communicate with the runners and volunteers before, during and after the event to include publication of finisher results, finisher certificates and race photographs, videos and motion pictures. Data and photographs, videotape, motion pictures and other recordings may be used by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization and its select sponsors for surveys, publications on websites, race programs and promotions, newspaper articles, newsletters and other race marketing purposes and runner enhancements.
Routine Uses: Information is accessed by Marine Corps Marathon Organization personnel with a need to know to meet the purpose. Information may be provided to television, online and print media to provide publicity on the Marine Corps Marathon Organization events and to selected sponsors approved by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization. Registration for the 49th Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, October 27, 2024 is now open. Participants, ages 14 and up, must be able to maintain a 14 minute pace and must make gauntlets.
Take advantage of tiered pricing! For the first eight weeks of registration, registration will be offered at an “early bird” price followed by a 10% price increase on December 26, 2023. This tiered pricing applies to all forms of registration except military and deferments.
There are multiple categories to choose from when registering:
Those who hold a current deferment will be receiving an email with instructions and a dedicated link to register for the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon. Current deferments must be used before any other means of registration. Otherwise, runner will risk forfeiting their deferred entry.
The Marine Corps Marathon Organization offers deferments to runners who may no longer be able to participate after initially registering. Please note, in order to defer to 2025, you must have registered with a new entry in 2024. The deferment and transfer window will close on October 1, 2024.
How to Defer:
Runners who have successfully completed at least five Marine Corps Marathons are eligible to join the MCM Runners Club. This exclusive group of motivated marathoners receives guaranteed annual access to MCM registration, during a designated period, eliminating any registration uncertainty for these frequent runners.
The Runners Club application will reopen in February 2025.
Registration for the 49th MCM for Runners Club members is now open. Members will receive a designated link via email. In 2024, a virtual MCM or MCM50K finish will not count toward the Runners Club.
To qualify as a seeded runner, an individual will be required to submit a marathon race result from a certified race (via a URL link). The result must be from a race that has taken place within three years of the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon race date.
The MCM Four Star Registration Package offers a stellar bundle of benefits starting with guaranteed entries to the 2024 MCM and to stay at the location of the MCM Health & Fitness Expo, the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. This incredible comprehensive bundle includes entries, hotel nights, hospitality, transportation and more! Choose from packages based on length of stay, days of the week and one or two runners. All packages include a guaranteed MCM, MCM50K or MCM10K entry. Two runner package options offer a second entry for any of the MCM Weekend events.
For those who want to dedicate participation to a cause, MCM Charity Partner organizations offer guaranteed access to the MCM. Make a personal connection to a cause and contact MCM Charity Partners directly to learn about programs, fundraising requirements and the registration process.
Charity registration for the 49th MCM will open on February 1, 2024.

After registering, some runners are unable to participate in the MCM or they may wish to switch their registration to a different MCM Weekend event. These runners may opt to transfer their entry to a non-registered runner through the MCM Transfer Program. The MCM is not responsible for identifying individuals for the transfer. Often, runners are able to connect via the MCM Facebook page. A fee is associated with this service. Transfers may be executed any time after a runner is officially registered.
Annually runners from more than 50 countries participate in the MCM. Enhance the experience if traveling from abroad and make the visit to Arlington, VA and the nation’s capital even more significant. Register for the MCM through one of the partner travel agencies.

In 2024, the Semper Fidelis Challenge will once again encapsulate the Marine Corps Marathon Organization’s three premiere events and bring them together in an exciting new way. The Semper Fidelis Challenge will now be available as a bundle! This bundle will go on sale November 18, the date of the Turkey Trot 10K & Mile.
Runners who qualify for the challenge will complete the following live events:
Finishers will receive all three event medals, plus an exclusive challenge medal. Additionally, individuals will now have the chance to compete for category awards.
In 2024, runners can now register for all five event weekends at one time with the 2024 Distinguished Participant bundle. Take on the Marine Corps 17.75K, Marine Corps Historic Half, Quantico 12K, one of the MCM Weekend events (MCM10K, MCM or MCM50K) and the Turkey Trot and earn a special medal!
Those who would like to participate in the Semper Fidelis Challenge as well as Distinguished Participant should register for the DP Bundle and ensure that they are registering for the Marine Corps 1775K, Marine Corps Historic Half and the Marine Corps Marathon. This will allow individuals to be eligible for both challenges.
Ambitious runners who seek to earn this coveted title and exclusive medal in 2024 must register and complete one live event of the following tiers:
Participants who are concerned they may not be able to participate in a Marine Corps Marathon Organization event can pay an additional service fee (14% of all items purchased, excluding event processing fees) for a 100% refund. The service fee will be the only amount not refunded. Refundable registration must be purchased as part of the registration process. Participants cannot go back and purchase once registration is complete.
