distinguished partiCIpant

Start your path to becoming distinguished in March with the Marine Corps 17.75K. In 2023, the beloved race through Prince William Forest Park will now count toward the Distinguished Participant Medal. Don’t worry, finishers will still gain Access Granted into the 48th Marine Corps Marathon on October 29, 2023 as well!

The path will also run through Arlington, Va. and the nation’s capital with the addition of the MCM Weekend events to the lineup with the program now encapsulating all MCMO events. Ambitious runners who seek to earn this coveted title and exclusive medal in 2023 must register and complete one live event of the following tiers:

transfers

After registering, some runners are unable to participate in the Quantico 12K or they may wish to switch their registration to a different MCM Weekend event. These runners may opt to transfer their entry to a non-registered runner through the Transfer Program. The MCMO is not responsible for identifying individuals for the transfer. Often, runners are able to connect via the MCMO Facebook page. A fee is associated with this service. Transfers may be executed any time after a runner is officially registered.

Refundable Registration

Participants who are concerned they may not be able to participate in a Marine Corps Marathon Organization event can pay an additional service fee (14% of all items purchased, excluding event processing fees) for a 100% refund. The service fee will be the only amount not refunded. Refundable registration must be purchased as part of the registration process. Participants cannot go back and purchase once registration is complete.

For more information on the perils covered by refundable registration visit: https://refundable.me/haku/.

Please note, refundable registration does not cover the following:

  • If the participant does not attend the event because they are concerned about the coronavirus (COVID-19) or are self-isolating without a positive COVID-19 test or other non-COVID-19 communicable diseases leading to quarantines or travel restrictions.
  • If event organizers cancel the race.
  • Processing fees associated with items (entry fee, ancillary products, etc.) purchased during the application process.

visit stafford

Stafford has been on the front lines of history. George Washington grew up in Stafford on the banks of the Rappahannock. Stone for many of the buildings in Washington were quarried in Stafford. Civil War soldiers walked the county on their way to war. But we’re not all about history. Our growing collection of breweries, wineries and restaurants provides a great entertainment experience. Our outdoor resources include Virginia’s newest state park and lots of opportunities to get out on the trail and on the water. And our arts community is always creating new things.
