To become distinguished, runners must participate in four events including either Historic Half distance event (13.1 or Semper 5ive) in May; Run Amuck on June 4; the Quantico Tri or Quantico 12K on August 20; and the Turkey Trot 10K in November. Registration is open now for all events.
The MCM is hosting two free marathon training workshops in early June featuring Olympian, famed marathon training guru and MCM Hall of Famer Jeff Galloway. Make plans to attend the MCM Galloway Workshop on Wednesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at the United States Navy Memorial (701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) in the nation's capital or at Marine Corps Base Quantico on Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. in Breckinridge Hall (2076 South Street).

Quick insider preview of the Marine Corps 17.75K course. Participants will start on Rt. 234 running toward the entrance of Prince William Forest Park at Pleasant Road. The terrain switches to gravel once inside the Park, before returning to a paved surface at Mile 2. This continues through Mile 9 when the course turns to gravel for the next 1.5 miles. The final stretch of the 11.03 mile run is conducted on a paved bike path.

Packet Pick-up for Marine Corps 17.75K participants will be held on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at VA Runner in Woodbridge, VA at 14210 Smoketown Road. Runners are encouraged to attend Packet Pick-up prior to event day. MCM's messiest and muddiest event, Run Amuck, has expanded its color palette for the corresponding participant waves to facilitate a smooth start on June 4. With four and two mile versions of its course, Run Amuck will send runners into the hills of Quantico to encounter more than 20 obstacles and mud challenges.

Runners were glued to their laptops for a long awaited appointment with the new MCM website to sign up for the in-demand, run-to-register event known as the Marine Corps 17.75K. Unofficially, runners from more than 30 states captured all entries to the Marine Corps 17.75K in less than eight minutes.
