Semper Fidelis "The People's Marathon"
Marine Corps Marathon Organization conducts a series of running events, showcasing physical fitness and generating community goodwill in order to promote the high standards and discipline of the Marine Corps. Annually ranked as one of the largest marathons in the US and the world, the MCM has been recognized as "Best Marathon in the Mid-Atlantic," "Best for Families" and "Best for Beginners." Runners from all 50 states and more than 60 countries participate in the MCM and an annual calendar of events including the Marine Corps Historic Half in Fredericksburg, VA in May and the MCM Event Series conducted aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico. Organized by the men and women of the United States Marine Corps, the MCM is the largest marathon in the world that doesn't offer prize money, instead celebrating the honor, courage and commitment of all finishers.
The MCM10K starts at the National Mall and finishes at the Marine Corps War Memorial.
District Training Crew Rewards Training for MCM
Pacers announces the free virtual training club, the District Training Crew. All local DMV marathoners and 10K runners are invited to join this virtual group to earn cool gear while hitting milestones in the last few months of training.
New Way to Beat the Bridge
The 43rd Marine Corps Marathon will debut a new way for participants to Beat the Bridge located at Mile 21. Void of spectators, the bridge connects the nation's capital to Arlington and has been portrayed as both, mentally and physically challenging. In an attempt to energize and fuel runners, the MCM will introduce water monsters on the bridge.
Honoring Runners with MCMMY Digital Awards
The MCMMYS are back and will recognize the excellence, passion and uniqueness of the runner community participating in the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon. This digital award program will enable runners to share their stories, motivations, challenges, successes and zaniness in eight distinct categories.
