In 2024, the Marine Corps Historic Half and Marine Corps Marathon Weekends will honor and celebrate the strong and inspirational women who have chosen to serve their country and their communities as military members and first responders.

Since the first Marine Corps Marathon in 1976, women have become more prevalent in the military, taken more positions as first responders and increased their participation in endurance sports. This evolution is a testament as women have continued to break barriers throughout our country’s history.

Regardless of the challenge, risk or sacrifice, women military members and first responders face adversity and exhibit intense dedication and prowess, which we look forward to highlight as a part of our 2024 Marine Corps Historic Half and Marine Corps Marathon theme.

Register for the Marine Corps Marathon Weekend

Recognized for impeccable organization on an iconic course managed by the US Marines in Arlington, VA and the nation’s capital, the Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the US and the world. Known as ‘the best marathon for beginners,’ the MCM is the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money, earning its nickname, “The People’s Marathon.” The weekend also offers the MCM10K and MCM50K.
