Held eight weeks before the Marine Corps Marathon, the Quantico 12K is a perfect fit for any training schedule. The 7.46 mile run will send participants on the streets and gravel roadways around Marine Corps Base Quantico on August 22, 2020. The course is approximately half road way and approximately half improved surface/trails
The Quantico 12K begins and finishes near Lejeune Hall. The Quantico 12K will tour Mainside Quantico on streets named after legends of the Corps- Kelton, Anderson, Catlin, McCard, Meyers, Mullin, Hawkins, Elliot and Quick. The 12K will pass Marine Corps Base Quantico Headquarters located in Lejeune Hall. The course will traverse a series of roads and trails, through the former Argonne Hills housing area before finishing at Lejeune Hall. The 12K course is a mix of pavement, improved surfaces and trails ranging from flat to hilly terrain.
There will be 3 water points for this course. Water points will be located along the course near the following locations.
- WP 1: Past Mile 2 close to Quantico Paintball Park
- WP 2: Past Mile 4 close to Child care Center on Purvis Road
- WP 3: At Mile 5.5 close to Stadium Trail
There will be no baggage area offered for this event. Runners are encouraged to store any gear in their cars. We recommend that all participants arrive with plenty of time to spare, so you can drop off any baggage at your vehicle and prepare yourself for running.
The Quantico 12K will begin at 6:30 a.m.To ensure maximum social distancing, runner will be divided into waves. Wave times will be approximately every five minutes. Wave times will be provided at packet pick-up along with suggested arrival time.
Be sure to give yourself enough time to park and get to the start line.
All participants will enjoy hospitality to include beverages and recovery snacks while visiting the Finish Festival booths and activities.
The top three Quantico 12K male and female finishers will be presented unique bulldog awards. Awards will not be given on event day. Date of ceremony to be determined.

In accordance with Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ) policy, all runners, volunteers, spectators and sponsors requiring access to the base for the MCM Event Series must have an approved ID and be registered into the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), prior to being allowed on base. All individuals, age 18 and above, who do not possess a valid Department of Defense (DoD) issued ID card (CAC - Common Access Card & TESLIN – active, retiree, dependent, reserve, individual ready reserve) must register into the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) and stop by the Visitor Control Center (VCC) to obtain a visitor pass. Passes can be obtained at the VCC up to 14 days in advance of an event. The VCC is closed on Saturdays so plan in advance of an MCM Event Series date to obtain the required access pass.
Parking is available in multiple locations near the start and finish line in the center of the Base. Signs direct participants to these lots from both exit 148 and 150 off I-95. Primary parking will be behind Lejeune Hall in the overflow lot, Facilities Maintenance Section (FMS) and The Clubs at Quantico. Runners may not park in the lot in the Crossroads Inn on Russell Road.

From I-95 South - take Exit 148. Turn left on Russell Road. Proceed 1 mile to gate. Continue 2.5 miles to parking and event area.
From I-95 North- take Exit 148. Turn right onto Russell Road. Proceed 3/4 mile to gate. Continue 2.5 miles to parking and event area.
