The Run-Walk expert and he’s going to share everything he knows about training for the MCM at a free workshop on Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the nation’s capital, hosted by MedStar Sports Medicine, the proud Sports Medicine Partner of the MCM. The program will be held at the new MedStar Health Orthopaedic and Sports Center at Lafayette Centre, Building 1, 1120 20th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036. You want to see this amazing complex.
Galloway will also host a clinic earlier in the day on May 3 at noon on Marine Corps Base Quantico at Little Hall.
No advance registration required. No admission fee. It’s a great opportunity to hear from one of the most accomplished marathon training experts. Want to train for and run a marathon while avoiding injury? Then Jeff’s the guy.
Starting on July 25, MedStar will offer free organized, monthly training runs along the MCM course.
The MedStar Sports Medicine MCM Education & Training Program sessions will all begin with a 30-minute fun run led by Washington’s own world-class marathoner, Michael Wardian, at 6:00 p.m., followed by the interactive education program beginning at 6:40 p.m. Attendees need not participate in the run to join the education session. Program dates:
· Tuesday, July 25 – Exercises and cross training for the Marine Corps Marathon
· Tuesday, August 22 – Nutrition and Hydration for MCM runners
· Tuesday, September 19 – Injuries, when to see a doctor, what can you train through?
· Tuesday, October 10 – Marine Corps Marathon: Event day tactics and recovery
