MedStar Physicians to Bond with MCM Runners
Before each adventure, James Bond would visit "Q" to receive a supply of special gadgets and tools necessary to accomplish the mission. MCM runners can channel their inner-007 and visit MedStar Sports Medicine, proud Sports Medicine Partner of the MCM, to be best equipped to run the 41st MCM.
MedStar has teamed with two leading local running specialty stores to get MCM participants ready for the October 30th event. Beginning in July and continuing through the MCM, MedStar physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers will be offering free runner education sessions and access to training runs at Pacers Running and Potomac River Running.
The first of four sessions, Strength & Conditioning for MCM Runners, will be held at Potomac River Running (Arlington site) on July 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Pacers Running (Clarendon site) on July 27 at 7:00 p.m. Pacers Running and Potomac River Running will also offer access to their marathon training programs beginning this month and continuing through October 30 event. Both stores have a variety of options for MCM runners--some are free Saturday fun runs. Some are coach-led training programs for which there is a fee.
MedStar will also host free Saturday training runs in September and October, launching from MedStar's new Lafayette Sports Medicine Centre.
Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to visit MedStar's website to access the various training options and the education dates, locations and times.
