Getting There
Transportation
Runners and spectators can use a variety of transportation options during MCM Weekend to arrive at event locations in West Potomac Park.
Metro
The Metro will be operational on race morning. Runners are encouraged to use the Smithsonian or Federal Triangle Metrorail stations, both served by the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines. These stations provide the most convenient access to West Potomac Park and the MCM Kids Run event area. Please plan accordingly, as both options are a little over a mile walk.
Shuttles
Complimentary race shuttles will transport runners and their families from the Pentagon Bus Loop to West Potomac Park. The Pentagon Bus Loop is accessible via the Pentagon Metrorail Station, served by the Blue and Yellow Lines.
If you plan to use the shuttle service, we encourage you to park in one of the many public parking garages available in Crystal City, south of I-395, and take Metrorail one stop to the Pentagon. Please do not park in the Pentagon parking lots, as they are reserved for authorized personnel and are not available for event parking.
Safety
Closed Course
While we understand that some parents may be tempted to join their young runner on the course, for the safety and security of all in attendance, we ask that all family members remain in the designated spectator viewing areas.
Barriers are located along the course. Please do not move them to get a better vantage point, as this creates safety hazards for young runners and event personnel.
The Marines Are Here for You
If your runner is uncomfortable running alone, please inform an MCMO staff member, volunteer, or Marine and they will assist in having them #RunWithTheMarines.
Parent Claim Ticket
Before your child accesses the Start Line area, parents/guardians must remove the “Parent Claim Ticket” from their child’s bib and verify that the number on the ticket matches the child’s bib number and wave color.
This ticket is required to enter the Family Link-Up Tent and will be verified three times by uniformed Marines before departing the tent.
To prevent crowding, it is recommended that only one parent or guardian enter the tent to pick up their child(ren).
Hospitality
All finishers will receive healthy snacks following their run courtesy of Sodexo.
