This once-in-a-lifetime challenge will reward finishers with a stunning challenge coin in addition to the corresponding finisher medals.
Registration for the virtual MCM and MCM50K events remain open and cost $45 per entry. As MCM10K registration is closed, only those participants who are already registered for the MCM10K may still register to participate in the Trifecta by signing up for the MCM and MCM50K.
MCM Military Match program presented by Cigna. By signing up for this free program, civilian and military runners will be paired to communicate directly, motivate each other through these final weeks of training and to provide support for the virtual run.
The MCM welcomes back the most frequent participants with exclusive registration for MCM Runners Club members. Those individuals who have completed at least five MCMs and successfully completed the Runners Club membership process will receive an email during the first week of March with information regarding registration for the MCM. Runners Club members are now eligible to sign up for the 2020 MCM until March 13.
For those who want to dedicate participation to a cause, MCM Charity Partner organizations offer guaranteed access to the MCM. Make a personal connection to a cause and contact MCM Charity Partners directly to learn about programs, fundraising requirements and the registration process. Annually, the new roster of Charity Partners is updated immediately following the MCM Registration Lottery.
Runners who deferred an entry from the 2019 to the 2020 MCM must re-register to complete this process and guarantee participation in the MCM in October 2020. These runners will receive an instructional email and, later, a courtesy reminder during the first week of March. The period for deferment re-registration is March 2-13.
Semper Fi Challenge
Semper Fi Challenge participants will wear a unique bib and receive a special Semper Fi Challenge medal at the finish line of the 45h MCM after completing events in May and October 2020. The Challenge medal will be awarded in addition to a very special MCM finisher medal planned for 2020.
The Semper Fi Challenge sold out in November 2019. Over 4,000 runners signed up for the two-event challenge that includes both the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon hosted in Fredericksburg, Virginia and the Marine Corps Marathon. Entrants chose to register for either the Historic Half or the Devil Dog Double on May 17, 2020 and for the MCM or the MCM50K on October 25, 2020. Completion of events on both dates is required to earn the medal.
In honor of the 45th anniversary, the entry fee for the MCM has been reduced by 4.5% from 2019. The Challenge fee was determined by the mix of events selected by the registrant. The MCM reduction will be included in the final cost of the Challenge.
The deferment program affords runners the opportunity to push a current entry to the next year's marathon. By forgoing participation the current year’s MCM and deferring an entry to the following year, the runner will receive a guaranteed spot for the selected year event and can avoid the Lottery process. For 2020, there is no additional fee associated with this service for live event registrations. Any additional purchases made at the time of the initial MCM registration including Carbo Dining-in tickets are not eligible to be deferred to a future registration. MCM10K bibs and any virtual events may not be deferred. The deferment program will close in September 2020.
Bigger than big. The MCM50K will be a virtual-only event in 2020. Runners must complete the ultra-distance between September 27 through November 10 (Marine Corps Birthday). Limited entries are available for $45 fee.
