  • Marine Corps Historic Half (MCHH) or the Devil Dog Double on May 22, 2022
  • Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) or MCM50K on October 30, 2022.

Finishers will receive an exclusive Semper Fidelis Challenge medal, in addition to the individual race medals, upon completion of the MCM or MCM50K.

Registration

For this year, runners will register individually for each race. Registration for the MCHH Events opens on December 1, 2021 and registration for the MCM Weekend Events opens on February 16, 2022. Distinguished Participation

Presented by Fleet Feet, the Distinguished Participant medal will be presented to runners who have participated in four specific LIVE events in 2022 including:

  • Crossroads Trail 15K or Belleau Wood 8K in June
  • Quantico 12K in August
  • And the Turkey Trot 10K or Mile in November.

The Distinguished Participant medal, recognizing a year-long commitment to running with the Marines, is awarded to qualified runners after they finish the live and in-person Turkey Trot in November.

Iron Mile Company

Named after the Iron Mines Company, a mining and smelting operation founded in nearby Spotsylvania in 1725, the 96 runners comprising the Iron Mile Company have completed every Marine Corps Historic Half since its inception in 2008.

Membership in this exclusive group must be maintained by continuing to run and finish the Historic Half every year. Since 2017, a finish in the Devil Dog Double also qualifies. The current company is comprised of 34 women and 62 men. The youngest runner is 29; the oldest is 74. Iron Mile members hail from 8 states and the District of Columbia, with 28 of these runners from right here in historic Fredericksburg, Virginia!

Each runner in the Iron Mile Company has displayed their dedication and resiliency by conquering the distance virtually in 2020 and 2021. Who will continue to be Iron made?
