Victory in Arrival

A triumphant moment when participants reach the Historic Half finish line. Runners are motivated by the cheering masses lining the street on the final approach. With Wegmans on the right, runners reach the massive stars and stripes archway signaling mission complete. Standing just inside the finish area, awaiting Marines present the symbol of accomplishment-a finisher medal. Runners enjoy this moment of mutual respect as the Marines extend congratulations to the runners and the runners expresses gratitude for the Marines service to our country. Runners proceed to exciting Finish Festival booths, activities and post-event celebrations just outside the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference

Finisher Medals

Runners are mission focused when it comes to participating in the Marine Corps Historic Half. The collective goal is to conquer Hospital Hill. All runners complete the journey under the finish line archway adorned in stars and stripes, where an awaiting Marine Corps lieutenant presents each finisher with a unique medal reflecting the history of the host community of Fredericksburg. In recent years, the medal design has featured the course map, Sunken Road and the Hugh Mercer Statue .The presentation of the medal is regarded by participants at all MCM events as the highlight the event experience.


Post-event hospitality will be located near the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center along. Finishers can replenish with Dole fruit cups, Gatorade Thirst Quencher, and from Wegmans bottled water, trail mix and bananas.

Finish Festival

After crossing the Historic Half and Semper 5ive finish lines, runners can reunite with their supporters and enjoy the activities and energy of the Finish Festival. Booths to include Select Physical Therapy, Navy Federal Credit Union, Pohanka Nissan and 26.2 Beer.

Runners and spectators can reunite at the Family Link-up area, located outside the Expo Center. To coordinate link up, meet under the flag bearing the first letter of the runner's last name. The flags are designated as follows: A-B-C, D-E-F-G, H-I-J-K, L-M-N-O, P-Q-R-S, T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z.
