Purpose: To register, acknowledge and promote participation in Marine Corps Marathon Organization events. Information is used to plan, organize, coordinate and execute the events and communicate with the runners and volunteers before, during and after the event to include publication of finisher results, finisher certificates and race photographs, videos and motion pictures. Data and photographs, videotape, motion pictures and other recordings may be used by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization and its select sponsors for surveys, publications on websites, race programs and promotions, newspaper articles, newsletters and other race marketing purposes and runner enhancements. Routine Uses: Information is accessed by Marine Corps Marathon Organization personnel with a need to know to meet the purpose. Information may be provided to television, online and print media to provide publicity on the Marine Corps Marathon Organization events and to selected sponsors approved by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization. Operation Iraqi Freedom began on March 20, 2003. In commemoration, MCMO challenges runners, solo or as a team, to complete 200.3 miles from February 1 to March 19, finishing just before the 20th Anniversary. The Operation Iraqi Freedom 200.3 Miler is the latest installment in MCMO’s virtual series kicking off each event calendar.
The event will feature a map accessible through a participant’s haku account. The map will show a runner’s progress as they journey part of the distance from Kuwait City to Baghdad. For every five miles achieved, participants will receive historic facts about Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ambitious runners are welcome to complete the total distance between the two cities for a total of 415.7 miles. Those who choose to continue past the 200.3 distance will receive facts every 20 miles until they reach the destination of Baghdad.

Registration costs $47 per individual and is open to ages 10 and up. There is no limit to the number of participants on a team. Each participant will be mailed a long sleeve crew neck shirt, a stunning coin and a postcard.

Participants have the option to link their personal wearables to their account to track their mileage and submit results. This should be done prior to starting your virtual event. Log into your participant account to view wearable options.

Runners are encouraged to submit their results through participant account in Haku.
Results may be submitted via a link to a public page from an app, a screenshot, a photo of a watch or treadmill or directly from a supported wearable device. Ensure to record both distance and time in your submission. Participants have until March 19, 2023 to input their finisher data.
