New Start Time for MCM50K

The start time for the 2020 MCM50K has been shifted 15 minutes earlier to 7:15 a.m. The move is intended to allow for the smoothest merge between MCM50K participants and Marine Corps Marathon runners in the Georgetown neighborhood where the courses converge.

In the inaugural running of the 50K in 2019, after a dedicated out-and-back portion of the course, the ultra participants mixed in with MCM runners but pace times were not synchronized. The adjustment in time increases the likelihood that a 50K runner will return to the MCM course alongside a marathoner of a similar pace.

The maximum pace required to reach the 50K cutoff in Georgetown remains 12:30 minutes per mile. Those 50K participants who do not pass that mark by 8:18 a.m. will be routed onto the MCM course and have opportunity to only compete in the 26.2 mile distance.

For on-time arrival based on the new start schedule, 50K participants should utilize alternate means of transportation other than Metro. Runners may reserve hotel space in Crystal City on the MCM Hotel Desk for convenient access to the free shuttle service to Runners Village. For those driving, free parking is located in Crystal City near the shuttles.

Registration for the MCM50K opens on Sunday, February 23 at noon Eastern. All participants receive a participant shirt and finishers are presented with a stunning finisher medal by a U.S. Marine. Registration fee is $200.
