Futures Running

SHARE: Copied!

These are the formative weeks, when individuals develop resolutions to guide actions and intentions in the upcoming, new year. Physical fitness and pursuit of a healthy lifestyle should always be paramount to one’s initiatives. Make the 42nd Marine Corps Marathon and the other MCM-organized events part of the plan for 2017.

The 2017 MCM Event Series includes the Marine Corps 1775K, affording finishers access granted to the MCM; the Quantico 100, a 100K team relay in celebration of Quantico’s 100th anniversary; Run Amuck, the mud and obstacle challenge; the Quantico Tri; the Quantico 12K; and the Turkey Trot.

The Marine Corps Historic Half celebrates its tenth anniversary in May 2017 by introducing the Devil Dog Double. Runners can register to participate in both, the Semper 5ive and the Half, making two trips up Hospital Hill, logging 18.1 miles and earning three medals. Registration is now open for the Double, as well as the Historic Half and the Semper 5ive. There is a special registration option for those wishing to run the Double. Runners should not register for the individual events to participate in this challenge.

By participating in one of the Historic Half Weekend events, plus Run Amuck, the Tri or 12K and Turkey Trot, runners can earn Distinguished Participant status including a stunning Semper Fidelis medal presented at the Turkey Trot.

The 42nd MCM takes place on October 22, 2017, a week earlier than some may be tracking–so take note! The MCM10K and MCM Kids Run complete the big weekend of events. Lottery registration for the MCM opens in March.

Resolve to run with the Marines in 2017. You can do it.

Register for the Marine Corps Historic Half

It’s the greatest half in history! Run through historic Fredericksburg from the retail hub of Central Park, through quaint downtown shops and restaurants, up Hospital Hill to a finish line bathed in stars and stripes.
