Marine Corps Marathon Wants You! Race Directors Boot Camp is held as part of MCM weekend on Saturday, October 25 at the Hyatt Regency Washington. Road race directors, staff and officials are invited to register for the Marine Corps Marathon Race Directors Boot Camp, two days of intense Marine Corps-style training, welcoming a new class of recruits to the ranks of the few, the proud, the Race Directors. Regardless of MOS (military occupational specialty), recruits will be briefed in a massive arsenal of topics including Risk Assessment, Going Green, Race Marketing and Sponsorship, Event Leadership and Medical Operations.
Dinner is in the mess hall at the MCM Carbo Dining In. On race day, recruits can observe all tasks to accomplish mission at hand as they witness the Marine Corps Marathon with a VIP pass. Or they can choose PT (physical training) by falling in with MCM or MCM10K runners at the start line. Registered Boot Camp participants may take advantage of a guaranteed, non-complimentary entry in either event.
"This isn't a sit around and sip your ice water while staring at a PowerPoint conference. This is an intense presentation of event intel," warns Rick Nealis, Commanding Officer of Boot Camp and MCM Race Director. "Think you have what it takes to make it through Race Directors Boot Camp?  Recruits will receive the MCM uniform of the day- the coveted MCM mock-neck shirt, as part of the $50 Boot Camp registration fee as well as other boot camp goodies, dinner on Saturday night, one guaranteed non-complimentary entry into the MCM or MCM10K, VIP pass, and more! Schwag Swap Have you ever wanted to know what shirts and goodies other races give away? This is your opportunity to see what Schwag everyone has to offer. To participate in the Schwag Swap, just follow these guidelines: Bring any promotional item from your event to Boot Camp to trade with another attendee. Drop it off (with two business cards attached) at the Schwag Swap Table located in the Boot Camp room. Your item will be exchanged with a similar item from a different event and will be available for pick-up at the end of the conference. When you pick up the item, the business card of the person who brought the item will be attached.
