INSPIRE A MILER
This year, there will be over 700 participants in the MCM who have run five or more times with the Marines. Members of the Runners Club, who receive a guaranteed entry to the MCM for life, are being invited to promote the sport of running to the next generation of marathoners.
On Saturday, October 30, the day prior to the MCM, all members of the MCM Runners Club are being called upon to Inspire A Miler at 9 a.m. in the Pentagon North parking lot, just before the start of the Healthy Kids Fun Run.
With thousands of young runners watching, the Runners Club members will run a 1.5 mile, untimed course demonstrating their love of running and providing inspiration to the young runners as they prepare for their mile run. Runners Club members will receive a special bib featuring the number of the most recently achieved five year plateau.
Please note that ONLY Runners Club members may register for this event. Special one time codes were e-mailed to all Runners Club members to register for the Inspire A Miler - use that code to register here!
Runners who have completed at least five Marine Corps Marathons are eligible to join the MCM Runners Club and receive a guaranteed entry into the next year's marathon. Entry is free and easy! Simply submit copies of five finisher certificates to the MCM office, along with a request to be entered into the Club.
