AwardsThe Marine Corps Marathon awards ceremony is held at 12:30 p.m. on race day at the Marine Corps War Memorial. MCBQ Commander Colonel Choike is joined by other high ranking military personel to present the awards, as well as offer their congratulations to the winners.
The MCM offers over 460 MCM and MCM10K awards with only a handful being presented to winners on race day. The following awards are presented on October 31, 2010:
*MCM Overall: top three male and top three female awards, presented at finish line beginning at 10:45 a.m. with the men, and 11:15 a.m. with the women
*Challenge Cup competition
*Local area (DC, VA, MD): top male and top female presented by Verizon Wireless
*MCM10K Overall: top male and top female, presented at the finish line beginning at 9:00 a.m.
*Wheelchair
*Handcycle
*USMC Award: top three active duty male and female Marine finishers
*Navy Federal Award: top active duty male and female Navy finisher
*US Armed Forces: top three male and top three female
*Special Olympics: top male and top female
*Special Olympics Unified Team: top male or top female
*Penguin award: presented to the last official finisher at the finish line
