In the spirit of traditional military formal dinners called "Dining-In", runners are invited to this elegant marathon-eve pasta dinner buffet at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The Carbo Dining In will feature two seatings, 4:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., and includes a buffet-style pasta dinner, salad, drinks, desert and more. This year's guest speaker is Boston Marathon Race Director Dave McGillivary and will feature music, giveaways and more! Author, speaker, philanthropist and 21-year race director for the Boston Marathon, Dave McGillivary was 12 years old when he challenged himself to run his age in miles on his birthday each year.  This personal goal set the stage for McGillivary to run more than 130,000 miles in his lifetime, including 123 marathons, and two cross country runs from California to Boston.  McGillivary has run 37 Boston Marathons, 21 of which he has run the evening of the Boston Marathon, after his duties as race director have been completed. McGillivary shares his stories of motivation, obstacles and triumphs during his inspirational speeches, given to more than 1,500 audiences world wide.  He has also continued his childhood challenge, completing 53 miles this year for his 53 birthday.

Past entertainment for the Carbo Dining In has included special guest speakers like Utah National Guard Sergeant and former Miss Utah Jill Stevens, running experts John "The Penguin Bingham" and Jenny Hadfield, music from the Marine Corps Base Quantico Band, a performance by the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and more.   Attendees are treated to the pomp and circumstance of the Marine Corps color guard, and a raffle featuring great prizes from MCM sponsors.
