MCM Registration

Lottery registration for the Marine Corps Marathon is conducted annually during March. There are no fees associated with signing up for the Lottery. Charges will only apply if the runner is selected to participate in the MCM. For runners unsuccessful in efforts to register through the Lottery, numerous options are available for participation in "The People's Marathon" and are highlighted on this page. Lottery Registration for 2017 is now closed, however, MCM Charity Partners and the Runner’s World VIP Program offer access to the MCM.

2016-to-2017 Deferment Re-Registration

Re-Registration is now closed. Runners who deferred an entry from the 2016 to the 2017 MCM must re-register to complete this process and guarantee participation in the 42nd MCM on October 22, 2017. These runners received an instructional email and, later, a courtesy reminder was sent during the first week of March 2017.

Transfer program is now closed. After registering for the MCM, some runners ultimately decide they are unable to participate in a marathon or circumstances intervene preventing participation. These runners may transfer an entry to a non-registered runner through the MCM Transfer Program. The MCM is not responsible for identifying individuals for the transfer. Often, runners are able to connect via the MCM Facebook page. A $50 fee is associated with this service.

Deferment program is now closed. The deferment program affords runners the opportunity to push a current entry to the next year's marathon. By forgoing participation the current year’s MCM and deferring an entry to the following year, the runner will receive a guaranteed spot in the next year's event and can avoid the Lottery process. A limited number of deferments are available each year with the program remaining open until all deferments have been claimed or the designated closing date has been reached. There is a $80 fee associated with this limited availability service. Any additional purchases made at the time of the initial MCM registration including Carbo Dining-in tickets are not eligible to be deferred to a future registration. MCM10K bibs may not be deferred. An entry may only be deferred once.
