Lottery registration for the 2016 Marine Corps Marathon has concluded. Runners received notification of registration status by email on March 31. The 2016 MCM registration fee was $135.
For runners unsuccessful in efforts to register for the MCM through the Lottery, numerous options are available for participation in "The People's Marathon" and are highlighted on this page.
Once registered, runners may wish to confirm their status and personal information through the MCM Confirmation Service.

MCM10K presented by aetna
Registration for the 6.2 mile run to be held on October 30, 2016 is $55. The course begins on the National Mall and crosses the same finish line as the MCM at the Marine Corps War Memorial.
MCM Kids Run presented by VA529
Hosted on October 29, 2016, the day prior to the MCM, this one mile just-for-fun running challenge hosts children ages 5-12. Participants may select from six specific starting waves. Shuttles from Metro, post-event hospitality, activities, entertainment, games and mascots make this an unforgettable event. Registration is just $5 and includes a participant shirt and medal at the finish line.
MCM Runners bRUNch
Enjoy a 5K shake-our run along the Potomac River at National Harbor before joining other runners for brunch at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on October 29, 2016. Featured speaker Bart Yasso of Runners World offers an entertaining and informative talk. Registration is $55.
Registration for the Marine Corps Marathon is conducted via online lottery. Runners declare their intent to participate by registering for the MCM Lottery annually during March. Notification emails regarding 2016 registration status were sent on March 31. The 2016 MCM registration fee is $135.
For those who want to dedicate participation to a cause, MCM Charity Partners offer guaranteed access to the MCM. Make a personal connection to a cause and contact MCM Charity Partners directly to learn about programs, fundraising requirements and the registration process.
Annually runners from more than 50 countries participate in the MCM. Enhance the experience if traveling from abroad and make the visit to Arlington, VA and the nation's capital even more significant. Register for the MCM through one of the partner travel agencies.
After registering for the MCM, some runners ultimately decide they are unable to participate in a marathon. These runners may opt to transfer their entry to a non-registered runner through the MCM Transfer Program.
For registered runners unable to participate, the MCM Deferment Program enables an entry to be deferred to the following year's MCM for a small fee beginning August 15 to the first 1,600 deferments. Hold the spot; skip the next Lottery.
Team Competition offers a variety of categories for individual runners to join others in a competitive award category at the MCM.
Confirm status of an entry into one of the MCM events or verify personal information.
A wide variety of volunteer openings are available for various things throughout event weekend, for both individuals and groups.
MCM VIP Package--Two Entries
MCM VIP Registration is now closed. The limited availability program offered immediate access to the MCM including two guaranteed entries plus two nights at the headquarters hotel, the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, and tickets to MCM Weekend events--all with special VIP benefits including shuttle service to the MCM and pre-event hospitality tent. The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center hosts the MCM Health & Fitness Expo, the Runners bRUNch, the Carbo Dining In and more MCM Weekend activities.
MCM Runners Club
Runners who have successfully completed at least five Marine Corps Marathons are eligible to join the MCM Runners Club and receive guaranteed access to MCM registration, during a designated period beginning March 14. The registration capacity for this program is 2,000 runners.
Part of the MCM Event Series, hosted near Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Marine Corps 17.75K is a run that offers guaranteed access to the MCM for all finishers. Run 11.03 miles through Prince William Forest Park and earn "Access Granted" including a guaranteed spot in the MCM and an exclusive registration period.
Active Duty/Reserve Registration presented by GEICO has sold out. Congratulations to the 2,500 members of the military who enjoyed a 15 percent discount on registration and will participate in the MCM.
