Lottery registration for the Marine Corps Marathon is conducted annually during March. There are no fees associated with signing up for the Lottery. Charges will only apply if the runner is selected to participate in the MCM. For runners unsuccessful in efforts to register through the Lottery, numerous options are available for participation in "The People's Marathon" and are highlighted on this page.
Once registered, runners may confirm status and personal information through the MCM Confirmation Service.
The 2017 MCM Lottery begins in March. The registration fee is $140.

MCM Kids Run presented by VA529
Hosted on October 29, 2016, the day prior to the MCM, this one mile just-for-fun running challenge hosts children ages 5-12. Participants may select from six specific starting waves. Shuttles from Metro, post-event hospitality, activities, entertainment, games and mascots make this an unforgettable event. Registration is just $5 and includes a participant shirt and medal at the finish line.

Enjoy a 5K shake-our run along the Potomac River at National Harbor before joining other runners for brunch at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on October 29, 2016. Featured speaker Bart Yasso of Runners World offers an entertaining and informative talk. Registration is closed.
The 41st MCM Weekend hosts an expanded MCM Runners Conference on Friday and Saturday, October 28-29 from noon - 5 p.m. at the Gaylord National Harbor. Seven entertaining and educational 60-minute sessions are planned featuring local and national running experts in single speaker or panel discussion formats.
Runners of all experience levels are invited to charge head first into MCM weekend at the MCM Pep Rally on Friday, October 28 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Free appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will also be available.
Registration for the Marine Corps Marathon is conducted via online lottery. Runners declare their intent to participate by registering for the 2016 MCM Lottery annually during March. Notification emails regarding 2016 registration status were sent on March 31, 2016. The 2016 MCM registration fee is $135.
For those who want to dedicate participation to a cause, MCM Charity Partner organizations offer guaranteed access to the MCM. Make a personal connection to a cause and contact MCM Charity Partners directly to learn about programs, fundraising requirements and the registration process. Annually, the new roster of Charity Partners is updated immediately following the MCM Registration Lottery.
Annually runners from more than 50 countries participate in the MCM. Enhance the experience if traveling from abroad and make the visit to Arlington, VA and the nation's capital even more significant. Register for the MCM through one of the partner travel agencies.
Team Competition offers a variety of categories for individual runners to join others in a competitive award category at the MCM.

A wide variety of volunteer openings are available for various things throughout event weekend, for both individuals and groups.
Part of the MCM Event Series, hosted near Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Marine Corps 17.75K is a run that offers guaranteed access to the MCM for all finishers. Run 11.03 miles through Prince William Forest Park and earn "Access Granted" including a guaranteed spot in the MCM and an exclusive registration period.
