Hosted in the beautiful Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, the MCM Morning Mess will be held from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, less than 24 hours before the start of the MCM and MCM10K.
Runners and guests are invited to sit down for a delicious brunch at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, just steps from the Health & Fitness Expo, on Saturday, October 21, the morning prior to the MCM. All who register for the Morning Mess will receive a confirmation email that serves as the ticket to enter the event. Morning Mess is now sold out.
The Morning Mess includes a delicious buffet breakfast with an acclaimed guest speaker who will inform, entertain and motivate runners and their supporters on the final approach to the MCM. Why Mess? A mess is an area where military personnel socialize, eat, and (in some cases) live. There's no messing with MCM runners so join the cheerful gathering at the Morning Mess. Meet other runners and MCM organizers before visiting the Health & Fitness Expo, also located at the Gaylord National Resort.
This hard charging, fast talking retired U.S. Marine owns a 3:03:24 marathon PR. Long-time MCM participants will recognize J.D. Baker for the series of early morning, in-your-face motivational videos he starred in for the MCM. He is a runner with a Marine sniper’s attitude, whose mission is to ensure everyone he encounters is mission ready. The president of OMNA International will talk preparedness at the Morning Mess with as much verve as he does when training the Federal Bureau of Investigation Hostage Rescue Team or Marine Special Operations Command. A combat veteran of the Liberation of Kuwait and Panama, Baker is the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the United States Naval Academy, the Subject Matter Expert for Marine scout-sniper programs and a huge baseball fan. Try to keep up with J.D. Baker at the MCM Morning Mess.
