The 13.1 mile run in Fredericksburg, VA boasts a fantastic finisher medal, terrific technical participant shirt and a start ceremony concluding with the shout of a town crier and the blast of a vintage musket. It’s the greatest half in history! Run through historic Fredericksburg from the retail hub of Central Park, through quaint downtown shops and restaurants, up Hospital Hill to a finish line bathed in stars and stripes. It’s a 13.1 mile journey with support from the U.S. Marines. Registration details for 2019 will be available soon.
On the same morning as the Marine Corps Historic Half, the Semper 5ive starts in downtown Fredericksburg, scales Hospital Hill and crosses the same finish as the Half. Finishers receive a unique and patriotic medal. All participants get a technical shirt and commemorative bib. Registration details for 2019 will be available soon.
Devil Dog Double
The only thing more motivating than conquering Hospital Hill in Fredericksburg, VA as part of the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon is scaling it twice in one morning. Runners will have double the challenge and twice the opportunity to scale the 200-foot continuous incline located on the Marine Corps Historic Half and Semper 5ive courses. The Devil Dog Double, a one day, two event combination with three medals. Registration details for 2019 will be available soon.
Between registration and participation, updates to a runner's personal information may be necessary. Runners may send an email with specific changes to firstname.lastname@example.org. The corrected participant information may require several days before appearing in the database.
After registering, some runners determine they are unable to participate in the Historic Half or desire to switch to a shorter distance event. These runners may opt to transfer their entry to a non-registered runner or change events through the Transfer Program. Runners often find transfer partners on the MCM Facebook page.
There is a $25 fee for runner-to-runner transfers within an event. To execute a transfer, runners must log in to the events.com website and set up an account. This service is accessible through the log-in button. Select "Manage Event" and click on "manage registration." Choose transfer from the drop-down menu. Enter the new runner's email address and click to initiate the transfer. The registration status will be designated as "pending transfer" until the new runner responds to the email invitation to complete the transfer. The new runner will be charged the $25 transfer fee.
