On event morning, participants and spectators can walk to the Historic Half start line located adjacent to the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center from nearby Central Park parking lots. No shuttle service is available to the start. For runners seeking assistance on event morning, Historic Half info tent is located near the Wegmans parking lot.

Runners will line up on Carl D. Silver Parkway on the side of the street opposite Wegmans under the antique flag archway. Ceremonies including March on the Colors, the National Anthem, the Historic Half town crier and more begin at 6:40 a.m.

Baggage Drop Off

Runners should use the clear plastic bag provided at Packet Pick-up to store personal items on event day. Check the bag at the Baggage Area outside at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center prior to the Half. Runners may retrieve baggage from the same location after a successful finish. Backpacks or other baggage will not be accepted. Marines and volunteers will check and store the bags, then facilitate the return with proper verification and bib number. As a backup, participants are encouraged to enclose a business card or some other form of identification. The US Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Historic Half are not responsible for valuables placed in storage.

Semper 5ive and Devil Dog Double runners should check bags at the event's start line and not at the Expo & Conference Center. The baggage trucks will relocate from the Semper 5ive start line to the finish for convenient retrieval. The baggage service will close at 6:30 a.m.

Runners and spectators bags should not be left unattended anywhere near the Historic Half course or the start and finish areas. Please keep all items in possession as a safety precaution and to avoid littering.

Timing

Runner split times and results are recorded by the light-weight disposable UHF RFID tag mounted on the reverse side of the runner's bib. No action is required of a runner beyond wearing the assigned bib. The "B-tag" records a runner’s official time, beginning when a participant crosses the start line and concluding as he or she passes the finish, as well as several split times along the course.

Gun time will be utilized in determining awards for the top three male and female finishers. All other awards are calculated by chip time.
