Runners are mission focused when it comes to participating in the Marine Corps Historic Half. The collective goal is to conquer Hospital Hill. All runners complete the journey under the finish line archway adorned in stars and stripes, where an awaiting Marine Corps lieutenant presents each finisher with a unique medal reflecting the history of the host community of Fredericksburg. In recent years, the medal design has featured the course map, Sunken Road and the Hugh Mercer Statue . The presentation of the medal is regarded by participants at all MCM events as the highlight the event experience.
After crossing the Historic Half and Semper 5ive finish lines, runners can reunite with their supporters and enjoy the activities and energy of the Finish Festival. Michelob Ultra beer garden is hosted by J.F. Fick. Other booths include Select Physical Therapy, GEICO, Navy Federal Credit Union, Pohanka Nissan and VA529. Historic Half merchandise including shirts, jackets, and other apparel will also be available for purchase.
Don't forget to stop by the MarathonFoto area to take a finisher photo wearing an awesome Historic Half medal.
