Marine Corps Base Quantico Access Procedures

New! In accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) policy, all runners, volunteers, spectators and sponsors requiring access to the base for the MCM Event Series must have an approved ID or Common Access Card (CAC) & TESLIN (active, retiree, dependent, reserve, individual ready reserve) or be registered into the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), prior to being allowed on Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ).

All individuals, age 18 and above, attending a Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) event on base and who do not possess a valid DoD issued ID card (CAC or TESLIN) must register into DBIDS and stop by the Visitor Control Center (VCC) to obtain a visitor pass.

Prior to arrival at the Visitor Control Center, individuals should pre-register in DBIDS to reduce wait times. Please note that pre-registration for DBIDS is only valid for 30 days. Print out the registration confirmation or write down the alpha-numeric (QR) code and bring it with you.

Upon arrival at the VCC, individuals will also need to complete SECNAV 5512. While this form asks many of the same questions, it is not a duplicate form and is required by the Department of the Navy. To expedite the process, individuals should complete the form prior to arrival and bring with it with you.

MCMO is the event sponsor. When prompted, enter the following email address: MCMCustomerService@usmc-mccs.org and phone number: 703-784-2225.

There is no cost to the individual to register or obtain a base access credential. Passes can be obtained at the VCC up to 14 days in advance of the event. Each pass will be stamped and is only valid for use on event day.

A visitor pass will not be issued to individuals with the following in their criminal record:

For ease of experience, participants are encouraged to obtain Marine Corps Base Quantico access passes at least a day prior to the event. Individuals can view the current operating hours of the Visitor Control Center (VCC) at www.quantico.marines.mil, by calling 703-784-3023 or 703-784-3024 or by emailing Quantico_DBIDS@usmc.mil. The VCC is located off I95 at exit 148.

If passes are not obtained by Friday during the week of the event, runners should expect a delay at the VCC to obtain Base access on event morning. Remember, most MCMO events have early start times and VCC hours may not provide enough cushion to get to the event on time.
