The 2010 Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, over two fitness-filled days:
- Friday, October 29 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 30 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Move through Packet Pick-up and enjoy the 200+ exhibitors and vendors featuring everything runners and their support teams want including running apparel and gear, training and nutrition products, food samples, MCM licensed merchandise and entertainment! This event is free to the public.
The Washington Convention Center is located at 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW Washington, DC 20001 with easy access to the Metro. Take the yellow or green Metro lines to the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street station and support the MCM's green initiatives. The Washington Convention Center is also committed to maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts.
Parking is available at the convention center.
Runners will need to retrieve their race materials at Packet Pick- up, part of the MCM Health and Fitness Expo, located inside the Washington Convention Center. The packet includes the participant bib number, B-tag and UPS baggage claim sticker.
Runners will then proceed to the Health and Fitness Expo to receive their coveted mock neck participant shirt and goodie bag containing safety pins, a commemorative MCM patch, special giveaways and offers as well as the informative race program.
To pick up a packet, runners need to download and print their E-Confirmation Card in early September. A photo ID is also required.
Runners are highly encouraged to pick up their own race packet, to verify information and prevent race day hassles. However, if a participant must have a friend or family member pick up the packet, they will need the following: a letter from the runner giving permission for someone else to receive the packet, the E-Confirmation card, and the ID of the person picking up the packet.
The MCM will “super-size” 34 extra special goodie bags, in honor of the 34th anniversary of the event. While each runner receives a goodie bag filled with cool stuff as part of Packet Pick-up at the Health and Fitness Expo, the special Super Size Goodie Bags containing high value products from MCM sponsors and licensees will be randomly distributed throughout the two-days. Only way to guarantee you get one of the bags is to be the first runner in line at the Health and Fitness Expo ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 23 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Washington Convention Center. Recipients of the Super Size Goodie Bags should check their bag before leaving, as soon giveaways require runners claim their prizes at a specific expo booth.
While no two Super Size Bags contain the same awesome prizes, here's a preview of some of the great goodies:
Even the bag is a prize...All Super Size Goodie Bags will be provided by priorLIFE ™, a green company that recycles used banners. The Super Size Goodie Bags are made from the actual finish line banners displayed at the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon. Each one-of-a-kind piece receives its own label conveying the history of the banner and a unique tidbit about its origin. Visit www.priorLIFE.com to learn how to purchase a piece of the 2009 MCM finish line while saving one more banner from being thrown-away, into a landfill.
Please note: Not all bags contain all prizes.
The MCM Health and Fitness Expo, supported by nearly 300 military and civilian volunteers, offers more than 200 booths and interactive centers for enjoyment by an expected 100,000 runners and guests. MCM and MCM10K participants are affluent, educated, active individuals.
Awarding no prize money, "The People’s Marathon" boasts a race field void of elite athletes, instead celebrating the accomplishments and dedication of its runners who hail from every state and more than 50 countries.
