VA Runner Distinguished Participation Medal
To earn this distinction, participants must complete any event during Marine Corps Historic Half Weekend (May 18), Run Amuck (June 14), and the Turkey Trot 10K (November 22).  All qualified Distinguished Participants will receive a stunning custom medal, as well as a one-time discount to VA Runner.

Introduced in 2013, the VA Runner Distinguished Participant award serves as an incentive to make an on-going commitment to health and fitness that spans the entire MCM event season.  More than 120 runners took this call to action and were presented with Distinguished Participation medals at the 2013 Turkey Trot.

To qualify, runners must be officially registered for an event and may not obtain a bib from another registered participant.

Further, when registering, runners are requested to use their full first and last names.  By registering as “Elizabeth Smith” for the Historic Half, “Beth Smith” at Run Amuck, and “Liz Smith” for the Turkey Trot 10K, status as a Distinguished Participant may be hard to verify and delay presentation of the award.
