Historic Half Awards

The Marine Corps Historic Half awards ceremony is held at 9:30 a.m. on race day at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center.    

The Historic Half and Semper Fred 5K offers 128 awards, with only a handful being presented to winners on race day.  

The following awards are presented race day:

• Half Overall: top three male and top three female awards
• Half Overall Masters: top male and top female
• Top Military Finisher presented by BAE Systems
• Semper Fred 5K Overall: top male and top female
• Semper Fred 5K Masters: top male and top female 
• Relay Overall: top three teams with the fastest combined time

The following awards are mailed out after event weekend:

• Historic Half Individual Awards
  • top three male and top three females in the following increments: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
• Semper Fred 5K Individual Awards
  • top male and top female in the following increments: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+

VA Runner Distinguished Participation Medal
VA Runner is proud to recognize a dedicated community of runners who register for and finish events during Historic Half Weekend and as part of the 2013 MCM Event Series.  Every runner who finishes either the Marine Corps Historic Half, Historic 10K or Semper Fred 5K on May 19 plus Run Amuck (June), Crossroads 4-Miler (September) and Turkey Trot 10K (November) will be presented a special participation medal for a year-long commitment to running.   In addition to receiving the limited edition medal, award winners who wear the medal into the VA Runner store will receive a special one-time 30 percent discount off all non-sale items.
