MCM Volunteer

The MCM strives to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill, and showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps. That is not possible without the help of more than 1,800 volunteers required during MCM Weekend. Additional support also is necessary during Marine Corps Historic Half Weekend in May, and for each of the MCM Event Series, hosted annually from March through November. A wide variety of volunteer openings are available for individuals and groups.

Opportunities to work alongside U.S. Marines range from distributing runner packets and shirts before the event to supporting a water point, food station, medical aid station, runner's hospitality or the start and finish areas on event day.

All volunteers can pride themselves for supporting thousands of individuals striving to achieve their running goals. Additionally, volunteers receive a commemorative shirt and certificate for each event supported.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer throughout the year. Support opportunities are announced at a minimum of six weeks prior to each event. Below is a list of active volunteer opportunities.

For additional information or inquiries, please contact the MCM Volunteer Coordinator for individual and group volunteer information.

Volunteer Opportunities during MCM Weekend will be available soon.

Recruiting Groups to Adopt-a-Mile at the Historic Half
The Marine Corps Historic Half Adopt-A-Mile registration deadline has passed. The number of interested groups pleasantly exceeded MCM expectations. All applications are being reviewed and all motivated applicant groups will be notified of official status by 3 April. If you missed the deadline or if your group is not selected as part of the Adopt-A-Mile program, please consider applying for the Marine Corps Marathon Adopt-A-Mile in October or volunteering for the Marine Corps Historic Half. MCM Adopt-A-Mile applications will open soon. For additional information, please contact Charlie Harr, Marine Corps Marathon Operations Coordinator, at Charles.w.harr@usmc.mil.
