35TH MARINE CORPS MARATHON - OCTOBER 31
The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) announced that registration for the Sunday, October 31 event officially closed at 11:57 a.m. eastern on April 13.  In just under six days, the MCM registered runners from all 50 states and 40 countries, to fill the 30,000 spots in the landmark 35th running of "The People's Marathon."

For those runners who missed online registration, a limited number of entries remain available through the MCM charity partner program.  More than 70 different organizations have secured entries to the marathon to generate visibility and funds for their cause.  Additional information is available on the MCM charity partner page.

The 35th MCM Weekend includes the Health and Fitness Expo presented by GE at the Washington Convention Center, the Healthy Kids Fun Run, the MCM10K and more exciting events. 

2011 MCM DEFERMENT 

Marine Corps Marathon participants registered for the 35th MCM are now able to defer their entry to the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon.  The $30 deferment fee ensures the participant has an entry into the 2011 MCM.  No additional registration fee will be charged.  In January 2011, all runners who defer their 2010 entry will receive an e-mail with a one-time use code and instructions to re-register for 2011.  All runners are responsible for keeping their email address updated with the MCM.  Deferments will be accepted until September 30, 2010.


2010 MCM TRANSFER PROGRAM
Runners registered for the 2010 MCM who are unable to participate may transfer an entry to a non-registered runner beginning on July 14.  The transferor, or currently registered runner, must complete an online transfer form (deadline September 29, 2010) and include the registration confirmation number (MCM2010-XXX) supplied after successful registration. The transferor will then be emailed a unique code, hyper link and password to supply to the new runner, or transferee.  The transferee must select the code in the online form's drop down box and input the password supplied by the transferor to complete the process.  The $25 transfer fee ensures the participant has an entry into the 2010 MCM.  Transferees have until October 6, 2010 to finalize the transfer.  For those looking for transfers, visit the MCM message boards or MCM facebook page to connect with registered runners.


2010 MCM TO MCM10K TRANSFER OPTION
Runners who are registered for the 2010 MCM may now transfer their entry for free from the marathon to the MCM10K.  Access the MCM to MCM10K transfer form here.

HEALTHY KIDS FUN RUN - OCTOBER 30

The annual Marine Corps Marathon Healthy Kids Fun Run will be held on October 30, 2010 in the Pentagon North Parking Lot. Children ages 6-13 are invited to participate in the one-mile just-for-fun event. Online registration is now open.  All participants receive a t-shirt, medal and snacks at the finish line.





MCM10K - OCTOBER 31

Participants in the MCM10K presented by Aetna will join MCM runners along the streets of the nation’s capital and finish at the iconic Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn, VA.  Online registration is now open for the MCM10K to be held on October 31, 2010.






TURKEY TROT 10K - NOVEMBER 20

Finish the year by unleashing a preemptive strike on those Thanksgiving calories and running the Turkey Trot 10K on November 20. Even kids can burn off some pumpkin pie by racing in the Turkey Trot One-Miler. Online registration for the Turkey Trot 10K is now open.
