Carbo Dining In
In the spirit of traditional military formal dinners called "Dining-In", the Marine Corps Marathon hosts an elegant marathon-eve pasta dinner buffet at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The 2010 Carbo Dining In is on Saturday, October 30th.
The Carbo Dining In will feature one seating at 6:00 p.m. and includes a buffet-style pasta dinner, salad, drinks, dessert and more. The 2009 guest speakers were Kathrine Switzer and Roger Robinson. The Carbo Dining In will feature music, giveaways and more!
FEATURED SPEAKER
Kathrine Switzer is best known for breaking the gender barrier in running when she was the first woman to pin on a bib number and officially run the Boston Marathon, in 1967. She went on to run 35 marathons, won the New York City Marathon and ran a personal best of 2 hours 51 minutes. She then organized over 400 races in 27 countries for a million women and led the drive to get the women’s marathon into the Olympic Games. She is now an Emmy-award winning TV commentator of marathons and author of Marathon Woman, her inspiring and funny memoir.
Switzer is joined by Roger Robinson, an internationally acclaimed writer on running, Senior Writer for Running Times magazine, and winner of the George Sheehan Award for running journalism in America. The author of 18 books, he is considered one of the sport’s most expert historians.
ENTERTAINMENT
