MCM10K

Runners ages 10 and up are invited to participate in 2008 MCM10K presented by Aetna.  

Beginning just minutes after marathon runners begin their event, MCM10K runners will take their mark.   After the start gun fires, they will quickly meet up with the MCM course and even cross the legendary MCM Finish Line at the  Marine Corps War Memorial.

The $45 registration fee includes a goodie bag, race materials including bib and race program, and MCM10K mock neck shirt. Finishers will receive a medal and plenty of post-race replenishment in the hospitality tent.

ON-COURSE SUPPORT                                                          

The MCM10K features three on-course water points as well as post-race replenishment. Each water point offers water and Powerade energy drink.

WP1/2: Army/Navy Drive near the Eads Street auxiliary parking lot.

WP3: On Washington Blvd before Rt 110 and the Pentagon North Parking ramp.

FINISH: The hospitality area at the Finish offers a variety of nutritious replenishment to ensure recovery.

Runners will recieve a hospitality bag including items like Einstein Bros. bagels, bananas, granola bars and pretzels, as well as bottled water and Powerade. Powerade combines carbohydrates with fluids for energy and hydration. It quenches thirst and replenishes minerals and carbohydrates lost during the running of a marathon. 


AID STATIONS                                                                         

The safety of MCM10K Runners is of the utmost importance to the many Navy and Civilian medical personnel on the course, throughout the day.

The 2008 Aid Stations will be located in the following areas:
AS 1/2: Army/Navy Drive and Eads Street working from the Fern Street Parking lot.
AS 3: Route 110 off ramp and North Pentagon parking lot.
AS 4: Near the Arlington Memorial Drive overpass.

Finish Area:
Med 1 is located near the Marine Corps War Memorial.
Med 2 is located near walkway and Netherlands Carrilon at the finish area.

Information
Medical personnel will track runners and record medical data to ensure timely updates to families of runners being treated. This information will be available at the MCM Info tents. Visit the Main Info tent on N. Meade Street and Hwy 50 off ramp, near the Finish Festival.
