MCM Runners Conference

Runners ConferenceThe 40th MCM Weekend will offer an expanded MCM Runners Conference held on both Friday and Saturday, from noon - 5 p.m. at the Carnegie Library in Washington D.C. Seven entertaining and educational 60-minute sessions are planned. The program features local and national running experts, along with MCM staff, in guided panel discussions.

MCM Runners Conference sessions are free; however, runners must pre-register for each event beginning in September. Participants may choose to attend any program, but must register separately for each session. 

The expert panel includes Michelle Weinstein, USN Ret., MCM Medical Operations officer; Bart Yasso of Runners World, and representatives from longtime MCM partners, Brooks and Clif Bar. 

Friday, October 23
12 p.m.- The Runners Conference begins with legendary Olympian and Run Walk Run coach Jeff Galloway.

1:15 p.m.- MedStar's Tips to Weatherproof your MCM

2:30 p.m.- An MCM Final Prep session will address MCM-specific topics to help runners best navigate participation in "The People's Marathon".

3:45 p.m.- MedStar's Best Exercises for Runners

Runners Conference

Saturday, October 24
12 p.m.- CNN correspondent Tom Foreman detailing his most nerve-wracking assignment - training for and running the MCM with his teenage daughter. 

1:15 p.m.- Runners will have the opportunity to meet and greet the MCM Director, Rick Nealis.

2:30 p.m.- The final session of the Runners Conference will feature a panel of Runners World experts who will offer tips on how participants can run their best MCM yet. 

Chas Henry, a Washington, D.C.- based broadcast journalist - and combat-decorated former Marine - will moderate many of the MCM Runners Conference panels.
