Runners Conference

The MCM Runners Conference will be held on Saturday, October 26 at the MCM headquarters hotel, the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The conference will consist of two 60-minute sessions with running and MCM experts participating in panel discussions.

“Intro to the MCM” at 1:00 p.m. will address MCM-specific topics and questions. Experts include Rick Nealis, MCM Race Director with representatives from longtime MCM partners Brooks and Clif. “First Time Marathoners” session will be held at 2:15 p.m. to provide information and last-minute tips as well as reassurance to marathon first-timers. Mark Remy and Jeff Dengate from runnersworld.com and Brooks and Clif experts will be included on the panel.

Runners Conference

Chas Henry will moderate the MCM Runners Conference panels and facilitate the Q&A. A combat- decorated veteran of the 1991 Gulf War, Henry served in the US Marine Corps - rising in rank from private to captain. Chas worked as national security correspondent for Washington, DC's all-news 99.1 WNEW, where he reported from Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar. His reporting has been recognized with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and selected for numerous tributes by the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists.

MCM Runners Conference sessions are free, however, runners must register online during September to attend. Registration for both sessions are separate and space is limited. Participants may choose to attend both discussions. All attendees will receive a special limited edition Marine Corps Marathon Challenge Coin provided by Warrior Chip. Registration for the Runners Conference will open in September.
