2015_MCM10K_Map_buttonThe 2015 MCM10K will see a slight change to the start line. Runners will begin their 6.2-mile run in front of the National Gallery of Art West Building before heading toward the Capitol. The USATF-certified MCM10K course will follow the marathon course across the 14th Street Bridge into Crystal City. There, the MCM10K course diverts form the marathon by making a right onto 15th Street. After arriving at the Pentagon, MCM10K runners will complete their 6.2 miles parallel to the MCM, finishing at the Marine Corps War Memorial. Dogs, strollers and bikes are not allowed on the course to keep the runners safe. All runners will be time using the ChronoTrack system and must finish in two hours. The course includes one water point and two aid stations.

TIMING2014 MCM10K Bib - back
The MCM10K utilizes Chronotrack Timing Systems, Inc
. to record the results of runners. Each runner is provided a Disposable Timing Tag (B-tag) as part of their race materials. The B-Tag is a disposable UHF RFID tag that stays mounted on the runner’sbib. 


MCM10K runners will line up at the start in corrals marked by expected finish times as follows:

  • under 00:39:59
  • 00:40:00 - 00:49:59
  • 00:50:00 - 00:59:59
  • 01:00:00 - 01:09:59
  • 01:10:00 - 01:19:59
  • 01:20:00 - 01:29:59
  • 01:30:00 - 01:39:59
  • over 01:40:00

The start of the MCM10K presented by Aetna is located at the National Mall, in front of the National Gallery of Art, West Building. The start line is approximately .3 of a mile from the Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station (green/yellow) and L'Enfant Plaza station (orange/silver/blue/yellow/green) stop. 

To access the MCM10K start, runners will enter the MCM10K screening area via 7th Street NW, between Madison and Jefferson Drives. After being screened, runners will be directed towards the start line located infront of the Museum. 

Opening festivities begin at 7:45 a.m. with the start at 7:55 a.m.

UPS Trucks will be available near the MCM10K start line for baggage drop-off.

The MCM10K shares water point 10 (as numbered on MCM course) with marathon participants. The water point offers water and an energy drink.

The Water Point will be located on Army/Navy Drive at the Eads Street auxiliary parking lot. 

After receiving a finisher medal, runners proceed to the Hospitality Area to replenish with a variety of post-event food and drink before heading to the Finish Festival. Runners will receive a hospitality box including items like bagels, bananas, Gatorade, Dole fruit and bottled water.    

The safety of MCM10K Runners is of the utmost importance to the many Navy and Civilian medical personnel on the course, throughout the day.

The Aid Stations will be located in the following areas:
Jefferson Drive and 12th Street SW.
Army/Navy Drive and Eads Street working from the Fern Street Parking lot.

Finish Area:

Med A is located near the Marine Corps War Memorial.
Med B is located near walkway and Netherlands Carillon at the finish area.
Med C is located on the Hwy 50 ramps along N. Meade Street
Med D is located along Lynn Street after passing underneath Freedom Park overpass

Med E is located near the Rosslyn Metro Station in the Finish Festival.

Medical personnel will track runners and record medical data to ensure timely updates to families of runners being treated. This information will be available at the MCM Info tents. Visit the Main Info tent on Fairfax Dr., near the Finish Festival.  The American Red Cross medical information tent will be located near the finish.
