2015_MCM10K_Map_buttonThe USATF-certified MCM10K course will follow the marathon course across the 14th Street Bridge into Crystal City. There, the MCM10K course diverts from the marathon by making a right onto 15th Street. After arriving at the Pentagon, MCM10K runners will complete their 6.2 miles in parallel to the MCM, finishing at the Marine Corps War Memorial. Dogs, strollers and bikes are not allowed on the course to keep the runners safe. All runners will be timed using the ChronoTrack system and must finish in two hours. The course includes one water point and two aid stations.

The MCM10K utilizes Chronotrack Timing Systems, Inc
. to record the results of runners. Each runner is provided a Disposable Timing Tag (B-tag) as part of their race materials. The B-Tag is a disposable UHF RFID tag that stays mounted on the runner’sbib. 


MCM10K runners will line up at the start in corrals marked by expected finish times as follows:

  • under 39:59
  • 40:00 - 49:59
  • 50:00 - 59:59
  • 1:00:00 - 1:09:59
  • 1:10:00 - 1:19:59
  • 1:20:00 - 1:29:50
  • 1:30:00 - 1:39:59
  • over 1:40:00

The start of the MCM10K presented by Aetna is located at the National Mall, just outside the Smithsonian Metro station on Madison Drive. Participants and spectators should proceed directly to the start location,located near the Natural History museum. Opening festivities begin at 7:45 a.m. with the start at 7:55 a.m. 

Baggage drop-off will be available near the MCM10K start line.

The MCM10K features one on-course water points that are numbered as found on MCM course, as well as post-race replenishment. The water point offers water and an energy drink.

The Water Point will be located on
Army/Navy Drive at the Eads Street auxiliary parking lot. 

After receiving a finisher medal, runners proceed to the Hospitality Area to replenish with a variety of post-race food and drink before heading to the Finish Festival. Runners will receive a hospitality box including items like bagels, bananas, Gatorade, Dole fruit and bottled water.    

The safety of MCM10K Runners is of the utmost importance to the many Navy and Civilian medical personnel on the course, throughout the day.

The Aid Stations will be located in the following areas:
Jefferson Drive and 14th Street SW.
Army/Navy Drive and Eads Street working from the Fern Street Parking lot.

Finish Area:

Med A is located near the Marine Corps War Memorial.
Med B is located near walkway and Netherlands Carillon at the finish area.
Med E is located near the Rosslyn Metro Station in the Finish Festival.

Medical personnel will track runners and record medical data to ensure timely updates to families of runners being treated. This information will be available at the MCM Info tents. Visit the Main Info tent on Fairfax Dr., near the Finish Festival.  The American Red Cross medical information tent will be located near the finish.
