Health and Fitness Expo by GE

The 2013 Health and Fitness Expo by GE will be held at the DC Armory at 2001 E Capitol St, SE Washington, DC 20003.  Take the orange/blue Metro lines to the Stadium/Armory station and support the MCM's green initiatives.  Free parking is available in Lot 3 outside the Armory.

• Thursday, October 24  4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Friday, October 25      10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 26  9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Move through Packet Pick-up tent hosted outside the main venue then enter the DC Armory to enjoy 200+ exhibitors and vendors featuring everything runners and their support teams want including running apparel and gear, training and nutrition products, food samples, MCM licensed merchandise and entertainment! This event is free to the public.

Join the fun and festivities of the opening ceremonies on Thursday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m. adjacent to the Packet Pick-up tent across from the DC Armory.  The excitement includes a performance by the Marine Corps Base Quantico Party Band, the ribbon breaking ceremony and the presentation of the first SuperSize Goodie Bag.  Those runners among the first in line at the Expo will have the opportunity to win the SuperSize bag.

       
PACKET PICK-UP
Runners will need to retrieve their race materials at Packet Pick-up, part of the MCM Health and Fitness Expo by GE, located inside the DC Armory. Race materials include the participant bib number, B-tag and MCM Event Program.

IMPORTANT!  UPS Baggage Sticker will be attached to the reverse side of every MCM and MCM10K bib.  The sticker features the runner's bib number and the assigned UPS truck to be utilized for baggage drop off and pick up on event day.  Carefully peel the front of the sticker off the backing and attached to the clear plastic bag to facilitate easy identification by UPS volunteers.

Runners will then proceed to the Health and Fitness Expo by GE to receive their coveted mock neck participant shirt, safety pins, a commemorative MCM patch and the informative event program.

To pick up their items, runners need to download and print their E-Confirmation Card in early October. A photo ID is also required. 

If someone other than the runner is authorized to pick up their race materials, please ensure this person has a completed Packet Release Form signed by both parties.  Additionally, the authorized person must bring the runners e-card confirmation and their own photo ID.  Race materials will only be released when these procedures are properly followed.

 
SUPER SIZING THE FUN

The MCM super-sized 38 extra special goodie bags, in honor of the 38th anniversary of the event. The SuperSize goodie bags contained high value products from MCM Sponsors and licensees and will be randomly distributed at MCM Weekend events by notifying runners over Facebook and Twitter where and when the next bag will be awarded.  You may also improve your chances of getting one of the special bags by being among the first runners in line at the Health and Fitness Expo ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m.

Not all bags contain all prizes.

The MCM Health and Fitness Expo, supported by nearly 300 military and civilian volunteers, offers more than 200 booths and interactive centers for enjoyment by an expected 100,000 runners and guests. MCM and MCM10K participants are affluent, educated, active individuals.  Awarding no prize money, "The People’s Marathon" boasts a race field void of elite athletes, instead celebrating the accomplishments and dedication of its runners who hail from every state and more than 50 countries.
