Semper Fred 5K

Whether a first step on a new running journey, an all-out assault on a personal record, a unique 3.1 mile run or a Sunday morning pre-brunch activity, the Semper Fred 5K offers motivated runners the chance to experience race day excitement and the thrill of crossing a big time finish line. With a name that represents the character of its two hosts, the Semper Fred 5K combines the Marine Corps slogan of Semper Fi “Always Faithful” with the abbreviated nickname of the City of Fredericksburg, affording its runners the best of both cultures on a challenging run. For those familiar with the Fredericksburg terrain, the Semper Fred 5K does indeed incorporate Hospital Hill. In fact, much of the course is an uphill climb to the finish! The Semper Fred 5K will be held on Sunday, May 17, starting at 7:00 a.m.

The Marine Corps Historic Half is partnering with the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center in Fredericksburg, VA to offer free visits to runners participating in the Marine Corps Historic Half. In addition, the Museum is offering free-year long memberships and discounts for all Fredericksburg-area residents running the Historic 10K and Semper Fred 5K. Free admission will continue throughout Historic Half Weekend from Friday, May 15 to event day, Sunday, May 17. Fredericksburg residents participating in the Historic 10K or Semper Fred 5K will receive their individual Museum membership via email but also will have an opportunity to upgrade their membership to include the entire family.

Registration is open now!
