Historic 10K

On Sunday, May 17, the Historic 10K hosts 1,000 runners on a 6.2 mile run from the quaint Fall Hill neighborhood, past historical structures, significant landmarks and inviting cafes, museums and boutiques, up Hospital Hill, before concluding at the impressive Historic Half finish line.

All participants receive a technical short sleeve participant shirt. Finishers will be thrilled with the event’s impressive medal featuring classic Fredericksburg artwork. Runners will be required to park near the 10K start line at James Monroe High School or surround parking lots (on Progress, Germania and Elm Streets). Post-event shuttles will return participants and spectators to their vehicles.

The Marine Corps Historic Half is partnering with the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center in Fredericksburg, VA to offer free visits to runners participating in the Marine Corps Historic Half. In addition, the Museum is offering free-year long memberships and discounts for all Fredericksburg-area residents running the Historic 10K and Semper Fred 5K. Free admission will continue throughout Historic Half Weekend from Friday, May 15 to event day, Sunday, May 17.  Fredericksburg residents participating in the Historic 10K or Semper Fred 5K will receive their individual Museum membership via email but also will have an opportunity to upgrade their membership to include the entire family.

Historic 10K participants may check their approved clear bag (received during Packet Pick-up) on event morning adjacent to the Historic 10K start line. The Historic 10K start is located at the intersection of Fall Hill and Virginia Avenues. Baggage support vehicles located at the Historic 10K start until 6:30 a.m.  Runners can pick up their items post-event in the Historic Half Finish Festival located outside the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center at 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway.
