Historic 10K

On Sunday, May 18, the Historic 10K hosts 1,000 runners on a 6.2 mile run from the quaint Fall Hill neighborhood, past historical structures, significant landmarks and inviting cafes, museums and boutiques, up Hospital Hill, before concluding at the impressive Historic Half finish line.

All participants receive a technical short sleeve participant shirt. Finishers will be thrilled with the event’s impressive medal featuring classic Fredericksburg artwork. New in 2014--runners will be required to park at the 10K start line in the designated area at James Monroe High School. Post-event shuttles will return participants and spectators to their vehicles.

Baggage
Historic 10K participants may check their approved clear bag (received during Packet Pick-up) on event morning adjacent to the Historic 10K start line. The Historic 10K start is located at the intersection of Fall Hill and Virginia Avenues. There will be two baggage support vehicles located at the Historic Half 10K start. Runners can pick up their items post-event in the Historic Half Finish Festival located outside the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center at 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway.

New! Parking
There will be no pre-race shuttle to the Historic 10K start line from Central Park, as in previous years.

Historic 10K participants can park at any of these locations near the start:

1. James Monroe High School – 2300 Washington Avenue
2. Mary Washington Healthcare Administration Building – 2300 Fall Hill Avenue
3. Mary Washington Healthcare parking lots located on Progress, Germania and Elm Streets off Fall Hill Avenue

From any of these parking lots, Historic 10K participants will walk a short distance to the start line at the intersection of Fall Hill and Virginia Avenues. There is no fee to park in these public lots.

Post-Event Shuttles
All Historic 10K participants will board post-race shuttles (free of charge) from the Central Park Walmart to the designated parking locations near the Historic 10K start. Shuttles will return 10K participants to the intersection of Germania and Fall Hill Avenue near James Monroe High School and the adjacent parking lots through 11:00 a.m. on event morning.
