Crossroads 17.75K

Honor the men and women of the United States Marine Corps on June 12 beginning at 7:00 a.m. by participating in Crossroads 17.75K. The 11-mile (17.75K) distance is unique to the MCM Event Series and commemorates the year in which the USMC was founded. Crossroads 17.75K is open to runners ages 10 and older.

Awards are based on chip time and were presented to the top three male and female overall finishers, and the top male and female masters finishers. Age groups awards are divided as follows: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 and older.

CourseCrossroads 17.75K Race Program
View the downloadable Crossroads 17.75K course map.  The course begins in Prince William County at the intersection of Rt 234 and Van Buren Rd. and ends at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  The challenging and scenic Crossroads course gives runners the opportunity to run through Prince William Forest, one of Virginia's beautiful National Parks. 


17.75K Start: Quantico Center.  From I-95 North or South, take exit 152B.  Turn left on Van Buren Rd.  Turn left on Fettler Park Drive.


17.75K Finish: National Museum of the Marine Corps.  From I-95 South, take 150A, or from I-95 North, take exit 150 to Route 1; turn right onto Route 1; travel approximately 1/4 mile; the Museum's entrance is on the right.

Crossroads 17.75K utilizes Chronotrack Timing Systems, Inc. to record the results of runners. Each runner is provided a D-tag, a removable adhesive strip that must be looped through the runner's shoelaces. 




Packet pick-up
Crossroads photo 4Runners will be required to pick up their bib, D-tag and other race materials prior to the start of the event. Be sure to print the confirmation page and bring it with you to Packet Pick-up.  If picking up packets for another runner, please have a copy of their ID, their e-confirmation card and a note from them giving you permission to get their materials. 

Packet pick-up will be at the National Museum of the Marine Corps on Friday, June 11 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  Packet pick-up will be at the start area on race day from 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Runners are encouraged to attend Packet Pick-up prior to race day.



BAGGAGE
Runners should use the goodie bags they obtain at Packet Pick-up to store personal items during the race.  Bags should be checked at the baggage area and then picked up in the hospitality area at the race finish.  Marines, volunteers and Marine Corps Marathon staff will check and store the bags and facilitate the return of bags with proper verification and bib number.  As a backup, participants are encouraged to enclose a business card or some other form of identification. 

The U.S. Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Marathon are not responsible for valuables placed in bags.



POST RACE AND FAMILY LINK UP
Post-race hospitality will be located in the parking lot of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, along with baggage retrieval.  Finshers can replenish with snacks and bottled water. 

Runners and spectators can meet up at the Family Link-up area locatied outside the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  It is recommended to meet under the flag bearing the first letter of the runners last name.  The flags are designated as follows: A-B, C-D, E-G, H-J, K-L, M-N, O-R, S, T-V and W-Z.

TRANSPORTATION
The Crossroads 17.75K will offer a free shuttle service on race day for all runners and spectators from the start of the race to the finish festival area in the National Museum of the Marine Corps parking lot. Shuttles will operate continuously throughout the day on Saturday, June 12 from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Shuttle service will be located adjacent to the Crossroads start at the Quantico Center parking lot on Fettler Park Drive off Rt. 234/Dumfries Road, in Dumfries, VA. Following the start of the race at 7:15 a.m., shuttles will begin transporting spectators to the Museum parking lot in Triangle, VA, to meet runners at the finish.  Return shuttles will begin at 10 a.m.

There will be absolutely no parking available in the National Museum of the Marine Corps Parking lot. All runners and spectators are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle service.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps will open an hour earlier than usual, at 8 a.m. on race day and remain open until 5 p.m., so all runners, spectators and museum patrons can enjoy the museum and its newest galleries that opened on June 5.

Directions to the shuttle parking lot:
From I-95: Travel north on Rt. 234 toward Manassas, make a left onto Van Buren Road.  Make another left onto Fettler Park Drive. Parking is available in the lots of the Quantico Center buildings.

From Rt. 1/Jefferson Davis Highway North: Turn left onto Rt. 234/Dumfries Road and turn left onto Van Buren Road.  Make another left onto Fettler Park Drive.

From Rt. 1/Jefferson Davis Highway South: Turn right onto Rt. 234/Dumfries Road and turn left onto Van Buren Road.  Make another left onto Fettler Park Drive.

Directions to National Museum of the Marine Corps visitor overflow parking:
From the Musem: Travel South on Rt. 1/Jefferson Davis Highway.  Make the first right into the Quantico Corporate Center on Corporate Drive.  Go past the Navy Federal Credit Union and park in front of building #1000.

Impacted Roads

Below is a list of the roads on the course that will be impacted only as runners are passing through the streets at specific times during the morning event.

5:00 to 7:07 a.m. - Fettler Park Drive (from the dead-end to Van Buren Rd.).
5:00 to 7:15 a.m. - Van Buren Road (Fetter to Rt. 234)
4:30 to 7:45 a.m. - Rt. 234/Dumfries Road (on the southbound lanes only, one lane for traffic will get by)
7:45 to 10:00 a.m. - Joplin Road (from Prince William Forest Park to the entrance of Rt. 1)
7:45 to 10:00 a.m. - Ramps from I-95 to Joplin Rd. at Exit 150
7:45 to 10:15 a.m. - Rt. 1/Jefferson Davis Highway (from Joplin Rd. to the entrance of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in the Southbound turning lane only).
