Bruce Judge
Longtime MCM Runner Saluted Upon Retirement
In preparation of his August retirement following 42 years of combined service to the Marine
Corps and federal government, Marine Corps Marathon runner Retired Lt. Col. Bruce Judge
captured another celebratory finish under the MCM arch on July 11, but this finish occurred
at Quantico’s Butler Stadium. After completing a four-mile run with friends and coworkers at
Quantico, Judge made one final lap on the stadium track before running through the finish arch
where he was met with grand applause. Most recently serving as Chief of Staff of the Training
and Education Command (TECOM), Judge is a 17-time MCM finisher who became Captain
Emeritus of “The Bold, the Bald and The Beautiful,” running team, aptly named for the captain
himself. Many former members of the B, B & B team came to run with Judge and attend the
surprise finish ceremony led by Director Rick Nealis. Calling him a “man of great courage and
commitment,” Nealis presented Judge with a framed depiction of his 17 marathon finishes.
“I thought I was just going to evaporate from the Marine Corps but this is a great way to finish
my career,” said Judge.
