Aly Jacobs

Aly Jacobs, the bubbly, bilingual radio producer from Washington’s Mix 107.3 Jack Diamond Morning Show will be running the MCM10K this year, marking her first Marine Corps Marathon experience.

Aly has been an avid runner for three years giving all the credit of her commitment to fitness to her best friend. “I was never athletic. In fact, I was that girl who would fake sick in order to get out of running the mile in elementary school. But my friend showed me how the majority of running is mental, and if I believed in myself I could do it!” Aly finds running to be therapeutic, and the exercise also allows her to occasionally indulge in an extra glass of wine or some dessert.

Running a race is like putting on a show, and Aly Jacobs certainly knows about both. They each take practice, perseverance and passion. She wakes up at 3am to prepare for the radio show, and she trains each night to prepare for the MCM10K. How does she do it? Well, according to Aly, it’s all about doing what you love. “I never thought I would be where I am today. I feel so lucky to not only have an incredible job, but to also work with such talented people whom I truly consider family.” By changing up her workout routine with yoga, boot camp, Zumba, and spinning, training for the MCM10K becomes more enjoyable. As a radio personality, Aly also uses music to get her through her workouts—she loves listening to anything by Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, and Katy Perry (and she admits to dancing while she runs, too)!

As a sponsor of this year’s MCM, Mix 107.3 will be in the Finish Festival. Aly, along with her coworkers, are “excited to be a part of such a great event with so much history.”
